Parichay Foundation organized dance recital in New Delhi
New Delhi 19/08/2012: Parichay Foundation has organized a dance recital by Kuchipudi danseuse Shallu Jindal and acclaimed Kathak dancer Shovana Narayan at Shri Satya Sai Auditorium on 19TH August (Sunday) 2012. Both the dancers enthralled Delhiites during the cultural event namely Aadya. Jindal's recital include Kuchipudi items like Shiva Panchakshara Stuthi (Nagendraharaya), Jab Se Tune Mujhe Deewana Bana Rakha Hai and Tarangam with Thaali, which comprises dancing on the rim of a brass plate coordinated with complicated rhythmic patterns.
Earlier in the evening the event was inaugurated by MP Prasana Patsani, MP Shasi Bhusan Behera, danseuse Shallu Jindal and Shovana Narayan. On this occasion MP Patsani felicitated both Shallu Jindal, Shovana Narayan.
Prasana Patsani in his speech thanked and expressed gratefulness to shallu jindal and internationally-acclaimed dancer Shovana Narayan and their group for gracing and performing at the function which was a huge privilege for parichay foundation.
Kathak guru Shovana Narayan performed kathak on nari Shakti (women empowerment) and showed various facets of nari like kali and nag. She also performed on the living goddess Kumari. Her facial expressions complemented her dance and made her performance simply outstanding.
Shovana, one of the leading disciples of the maestro, Pt. Birju Maharaj combines techniques acquired from the sophisticated elegance of the Lucknow gharana and the rhythmic precision of the Jaipur School.
The dance recital is one among the various events, such as guest lectures, musical events, debates, variety entertainment programmes, etc, which are conducted by Parichay Foundation.
Rosalin Patsani in her thanks giving speech thanked Naveen Jindal and other Sponsors like GAIL for their support to the various cultural programs without which it would not have been possible to organize a huge successful event. She specially thanked Shallu jindal for agreeing to perform at the event for a noble cause.
Shallu Jindal who is a philanthropist in her own right also contributes to the social corporate responsibility of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. As Vice President of the Flag Foundation of India, the President of Openspace Jindal Foundation for Development, she has been promoting various art forms & welfare development programs in India and abroad. She has brought out an impressive book called 'Tiranga: A Celebration of the National Flag'.
It should be noted that Parichay Foundation is a philanthropic organization headed by noted social activist Rosalin Patsani. Through Parichay Foundation she worked for the promotion of Indian art & Culture and bringing economic & social upliftment for underprivileged women in rural Odisha & slums of Delhi. Parichay foundation has got patronage and support from Naveen Jindal Group for last 5 years for their vocational training, SHG and education for children in their residential school.
