Sudarsan Pattnaik’s Taj wins Museum prize in Moscow


Delhi: India’s world champion sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik From orissa created 15ft high sand “TAJ MAHAL” at The Kolomenskoe Museum Reserve, Moscow in the 2nd World Sand Sculpture Championship Moscow-2009. Which was held between 30th april to 7th May. Including India, Denmark, Spain, Czech, Ireland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, USA, Belgium and Russia were participated in this world championship. Sudarsan got a special prize of Museum prize by Govt of Russia in this competition and Czech got the first prize and Belgium 2nd prize.
Pattanaik created Saha jahan and Mumtaz with Taj mahal. The name of the sculpture is “symbol of love”. His art was very much appreciated by Russia Govt.
This is the 39th sand Taj Mahal of Sudarsan. After carving about 38 sand Taj Mahal at different places in the country and abroad, now he created 38th Taj at Moscow. This time Pattanaik also created saha jahan and Mumtaz with Taj mahal. The name of the sculpture is “symbol of love”. He has a dream to create sand Taj at different places to attract people from all over the world and invite Taj lovers to see the original taj at India.
Pattnaik, the first Indian sand artist achieved many International awards by representing India in many countries on World platform. He always sends massages to the public by creating awareness campaign through sand art. Pattnaik also running a sand art school at Puri Beach in Orissa.
